Since the next NBA 23-24 season is less than two months away, it is high time we rank the top five candidates for the championship and analyze their chances of having a fruitful year, which starts Oct. 24, 2023.
5. Boston Celtics

Despite their apparent inconsistency in these past playoffs, the Celtics remain a top candidate for the NBA Title. Still trusting their Brown-Tatum duo to be the face of the team, they are also keeping their experienced roster that plays a huge role in team chemistry and bench depth.
Additionally, Joe Mazzulla and the rest of the coaching staff have proved themselves as one of the most effective in the NBA, which will only continue to improve next season.
4. Golden State Warriors

The Warriors’ dynasty is not dead by any means. Even though they are no longer the team they once were, having the best backcourt in NBA history alongside solid pieces such as Green, Wiggins, Looney, Kuminga, and their newest addition, Chris Paul, is proof they still are an excellent, proficient team, filled with playoff experience and versatility, which is extremely important at that stage of the season.
3. Phoenix Suns

Arguably the team with the most adjustments in the off-season, the Valley team is going ALL-IN to win the NBA title. While they lost some essential defensive pieces, their offensive side is STACKED with their new Beal-Booker-Durant big three.
On top of that, they managed to add and maintain excellent supporting players, such as Damion Lee, Yuta Watanabe, and of course, Deandre Ayton. With this refreshed roster, we expect the Phoenix Suns to have great chances of winning a ring.
2. Milwaukee Bucks

Another former NBA championship team with high chances of a fruitful playoff run, the Bucks are in need of redemption after losing in the first round of the playoffs. Milwaukee has one of the most complete yet underrated teams in the league, checking almost every box on both sides of the court.
More importantly, Giannis Antetokounmpo is back from injury and ready for action, with the chance of having his best season in his 10-year career, demanding the Bucks for a championship contention season.
1. Denver Nuggets

We would not be surprised if the Nuggets went back-to-back this upcoming season. With very few changes on their roster, this team has already shown incredible consistency throughout the years and definitely has what it takes to win it all.
Denver is living their best moment in franchise history so far, which could potentially become a multi-championship era with Jokic as their indisputable leader.
Many other teams can defy all odds and become NBA champions instead of this top five. Nevertheless, the teams listed here have strong arguments to be a part of the list. We could not be more excited about the 23-24 NBA season.
