If you haven’t checked out my NBA mock draft 1.0, I would recommend checking that out too. Now that we have touched on the draft, trades are another big factor of the NBA offseason. Soon, teams will be able to make trades and acquire new players. Let’s take a look at five realistic trades that could shake up the NBA and create another big three.
Paul George to the Brooklyn Nets
With the Brooklyn Nets having Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant as their centerpiece, they are set to be title contenders for the upcoming NBA season. Their odds as title favorites would only go up with the addition of a guy like George. The Nets have the trade capital to acquire George. Although many have recently loathed Paul George’s play, there is no denying he is still a top 20 player in the NBA at worst. Could the next big three in Brooklyn be Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Paul George?
Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Golden State Warriors
As if the Warriors needed any more help. After already having been in this position and acquiring Kevin Durant, the Warriors are no stranger to this situation and will look to do the same they did with Durant and pursue Giannis. If the Warriors did indeed acquire a guy like Giannis, they would undoubtedly be the team to beat in the NBA already having Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Will there be another big three in San Francisco?
Bradley Beal, Jrue Holiday, or Victor Oladipo to the Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets already have two young superstars in Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. After Watching their playoff run it seemed like they’re just one player away from winning it all. Holiday, Beal, and Oladipo all bring experience, star power, and intelligence to a young Nuggets team. Not to mention, the Nuggets tried to trade for Jrue Holiday at the trade deadline. If any of these three players went to Denver, would this create the most dangerous big three in the NBA? The question is, which one of these guys would fit best? My guess would be Holiday, but who knows for sure?
Devin Booker to the Miami Heat
Don’t worry Suns fans, if there was one trade on this list that would be least likely to happen, this is the one. Even though there has been some talk of Devin Booker leaving, it’s very slim. But either way, you can’t help but think of how special this Heat team would be with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Devin Booker along with Duncan Robinson, Goran Dragic, and Tyler Herro. Man they would be unstoppable.
Kevin Love to the 76ers
To this day, Kevin Love is still one of the most underrated players in the NBA. For someone that averaged 17 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game, he sure isn’t treated like a guy who puts up those numbers. As for the 76ers, It seems that they just need to add a leader. Both Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are young stars but there is no veteran there to be the vocal leader of the team. I think people don’t understand how much Kevin Love(who is still playing at an extremely high level) could help Philly out. A big three in Philadelphia with a veteran, why not?
