There’s many players in the NBA that are in great environments to be successful and have a great career. Some on the other hand… not. Whether the team is losing or they’re not being used to their best abilities, these NBA stars should ask for a trade or be traded this offseason for the best of their careers.
Kevin Love, Cavaliers
Kevin Love has been loyal to Cleveland too long. I get it, he loves Cleveland and Cleveland loves him but he deserves at a chance to be playing for a championship or a playoff team at the least. Love still can provide a team with shooting and rebounding ability as a PF or even small-ball center. A team like the Trail Blazers, Celtics or the Bucks would be where I want to see him go. Kevin Love could be that missing piece for the Trail Blazers or Bucks to help elevate them to win some playoff series next year.
Kevin Love has been an All Star for many years and is also an NBA Champion. Maybe he’s content with being on a terrible Cavaliers team, but I think he deserves at least another chance to win a championship.
Gordon Hayward, Celtics
Gordon Hayward is on a team that just went to the Conference Finals in the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are a great up and coming team and definitely have the ability to make the Finals next season. Sadly, I don’t see Gordon Hayward being there for that party. They should look to trade Hayward for a big man like Kevin Love or a Myles Turner. I honestly see the perfect trade partner for the Celtics being the Pacers and them getting a young big like Myles Turner to pair with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
Hayward should look to go to a team that will give him more of a workload then the Celtics. He showed glimpses of being THAT star for a team this year again with the Celtics that he once was with the Jazz. He could do that with the Pacers in my opinion (Not to mention, he’s from Indiana).
Zach Lavine, Bulls
Zach Lavine could very much well be content with being that star player for the Bulls, but lets be honest here… no one likes losing. Lavine has become that focal point player for the Bulls putting up great numbers on great efficient percentages. The sad part of it is that he’s on a bad team right now. I can definitely see the Bulls looking to part with Lavine to completely rebuild and trading him to a team like the Nuggets or Warriors. Imagine a trio of Curry, Klay, and Lavine… that guard trio would be INSANE.
Lavine is still relatively young and still has a lot of potential. Although he’s not a good defender, he makes up for it with great athleticism and shooting ability from the guard position. He could be that 3rd star for a championship level team.
