Finally, the NFL regular season is back and we get to see actual meaningful games. Week 1 of the NFL season is where we might see more upsets than any other weeks. This is where teams are still trying to figure it out as some starting QBs didn’t play in the preseason.
Over 1/3 of starting QBs didn’t play in the preseason so it might take a week or so in the regular season to get the rust off. Let’s get into predictions by our writers for the week 1 slate.

San Francisco 49ers vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Although we have the 49ers winning by the majority of our writers, don’t be surprised by an upset. The 49ers offense has been reportedly very shaky in training camp and the Steelers have looked amazing in the preseason.
If Kenny Pickett and the Steelers offense can show consistency… watch out. They already have the defense, now just need consistency from the QB position.
Miami Dolphins vs Los Angeles Chargers
One of the better games of the Week 1 slate, we get to see Tua vs Herbert. Excited to see how the Chargers offense looks fully healthy and how Tua looks after dealing with concussions this past year.
Will Tagovailoa be able to carry on the success he had last year with his two speedy receivers? The Chargers’ defense will be a tough test.
Buffalo Bills vs New York Jets
Most will say this is the game of the week. Seeing the first regular season game from Aaron Rodgers in New York and the Bills being one of the best teams in the league. The Jets have all the talent to make this a tough game for the Bills.
Don’t be surprised if the Jets pull off the win, they have the defense and now hopefully… the offense to make noise in the AFC.
