Throughout these 7 weeks so far in the NFL season, there have been a lot of surprising teams so far. A lot of teams have defied expectations so far and have impressed a lot. Whether it’s improved play from the quarterback position or the defense… these teams have surprised drastically this year so far.
Let’s get to the list…
Buffalo Bills
The Bills have impressed a lot of people this year so far… including myself. With great play from quarterback Josh Allen this year, the Bills have accumulated a 5-2 record so far in 7 weeks. Josh Allen has played as a top 5 MVP candidate this year so far. He has 2,018 passing yards, 16 passing TDs and 4 INTs this year so far. Not to mention he also has 204 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdown as well to add to it. The Bills are riding off of Josh Allen and they’re playing well.
They can definitely make some noise in the playoffs if they continue to play the way they have.
Arizona Cardinals
With the addition of Deandre Hopkins to the team, the Cardinals have gotten improved their passing game. Kyler Murray has played really well this year so far, passing for 13 TDs already and rushing for 437 yards and 7 touchdowns already. Yeah, you read that right… the quarterback has 7 TOUCHDOWNS already at week 7 RUSHING. The Cardinals offense has been quite dynamic under Kliff Kingsbury this year and they’re utilizing Kyler Murray to his best abilities.
The Cardinals are definitely a team to keep an eye on this year at 5-2 behind Kyler Murray. They have a lot of potential and it’s definitely going to be interesting to see if they can keep it up.
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears are unlike these other two teams. The Chicago Bears have been successful behind a strong defense and below-average offense. Their offense has not played up to the par of their defense but the defense is playing so well, it really doesn’t matter. The Bears defense has played really well and they even did enough to beat the Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Buccaneers too. The offense could use some work as they only have Nick Foles and a subpar running offense. The defense has carried the weight definitely this year for them and they’re doing well doing so.
The Bears are 5-1 and in 1st place in the NFC North surprisingly behind a strong tout defense. If the defense can keep carrying this team through the rest of the season will be interesting to watch for sure…
