Week 1 of NFL fantasy is upon us, finally. Let’s get into some players you should start and potentially sit in the first set of matchups.
QBs
Player | Start/Sit |
---|---|
Derek Carr vs Panthers | Start |
Justin Herbert vs Raiders | Sit |
Jared Goff vs Rams | Start |
Deshaun Watson vs Cowboys | Sit |
The Rams defense isn’t what it used to be and Jared Goff isn’t the player he once was with the Rams. I expect Goff to have a great game vs his old team. Goff has been a consistent fantasy producer over the past few years, although not putting up crazy numbers, he’s been consistently decent every week.
I’d start him and see him potentially putting up a top 5 QB performance for Week 1 against the Rams. With weapons like St. Brown, LaPorta, Gibbs, and others… expect a dominant performance from Goff to start the season off.
RBs
Player | Start/Sit |
---|---|
Rachaad White vs Commanders | Start |
Raheem Mostert vs Jaguars | Sit |
Aaron Jones vs Giants | Start |
Kyren Williams vs Lions | Sit |
With the addition of DJ Reader and the nature of the game, I don’t expect Kyren Williams to have a very good game vs the Lions. This is most likely going to end up being a shootout through the air and we’re going to see a heavy dose of Puka/Kupp more then Kyren Williams.
WRs
Player | Start/Sit |
---|---|
Amari Cooper vs Cowboys | Start |
Tank Dell vs Colts | Sit |
Andrei Iosivas vs Patriots | Start |
Jordan Addison vs Giants | Sit |
I initially had Tee Higgins as a start in this section, but with his hamstring injury.. it’s best to look somewhere else. Iosivas has flashed throughout camp for the Bengals and looks to be the #2 target in the Patriots game across Ja’Marr Chase.
TEs
Player | Start/Sit |
---|---|
Mike Gesicki vs Patriots | Start |
Cade Otton vs Commanders | Sit |
Brock Bowers vs Chargers | Start |
Noah Fant vs Broncos | Sit |
Gesicki will get a lot of targets out of the slot with injuries from Tee Higgins and potentially Ja’Marr Chase being limited. Gesicki has proven to be a vested veteran and security blanket for quarterbacks throughout his career, expect him to be the same for Burrow in the first week against his former team.
