Quarterbacks Poised For a Breakout Season in 2024-25

Last year, we saw the breakout of Jordan Love, who showed flashes of being a superstar quarterback in the league and even making some noise in the playoffs. It was enough for the Packers to give him a 4-year/$220M extension this past offseason.

Seeing quarterbacks emerge to becoming an upper-echelon quarterback is always a sight to see, whether it’s a sophomore QB that’s finally slowing the game down or a late resurgence from a veteran average QB… Let’s get into some quarterbacks that could have a potential breakout season this upcoming year.

Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers

It’s only inevitable for Bryce Young to have a better season than he did as the #1 overall pick in his rookie year. Although he showed flashes of why he was chosen #1, there were more times why he showed he wasn’t the #1 pick in his rookie season.

Some reasons were due to him and some were due to external reasons, where the Panthers didn’t put the correct pieces around their rookie quarterback to be put in the best position to succeed.

Fast forward to his sophomore season, the Panthers have invested a bit more capital in their rookie quarterback. Drafting Xavier Legette, bringing in Diontae Johnson, and bringing in protection with Robert Hunt and Damien Lewis up front to protect their young asset.

Young’s got all the tools to have a successful sophomore season, it’ll come down to his growth from his rookie year and hopefully the weapons around him being enough.

Will Levis, Tennessee Titans

Levis flashed his big arm all throughout his rookie season. Although there was some bad plays here and there, Titans fans have a lot to be excited about with their young quarterback. Over the past years, the Titans have invested heavily in their offensive line in the draft and they’ll look for it to pay off to protect their young quarterback. Not only that, they’ve got a solid set of veteran receivers in Deandre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, and Tyler Boyd to help their young QB.

Levis will have all the weapons in the world to bring some intrigue Titans fans have been looking for a while. Can Levis prove to be a franchise quarterback? I’d like to think so. He’s shown flashes of utilizing his big arm, if he can clean up the accuracy and some of the decision-making with new head coach Brian Callahan, I think he’s headed for a productive sophomore season.

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings?

Sam Darnold has the arm talent to be a solid QB in this league, but he’s just not been able to put it all together on the field. With weapons like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and TJ Hockenson… I find it hard to not have a productive season in the Vikings offense.

I’m not saying Darnold is going to light the world on fire, but I expect him to make some noise and potentially line himself up to get a bigger contract next season when the Vikings give the reigns to J.J. McCarthy…
