The hype around Tyler Herro is at an all-time high right now. He’s coming off an impressive playoff debut with the Miami Heat. The Heat just went to 6 games with the LeBron-led Lakers in the NBA Finals. Herro was definitely a key player and one of the most important players on the team’s journey to eventually being in the Finals.
Herro shows a lot of potential with his shot creating and shooting ability. He also can lowkey facilitate the ball really well with flashes of great passes. Herro is one of the more intriguing young players in the NBA. Miami Heat have made him untouchable in a lot of trade deals, even when a possible Russell Westbrook trade was proposed by OKC last year. Tyler Herro will most likely take over as starting shooting guard duties for the Heat this upcoming year.
It leads to the question… is this all hype or can Tyler Herro actually be a star in the NBA?
Tyler Herro is extremely hyped up, arguably the 2nd or 3rd most hyped-up rookie with Zion and Ja Morant. Although Herro wasn’t a starter like Morant and Zion, he’s been a valuable starter for the Heat. Tyler Herro averaged 13.5 PPG, 4.1 RPG, and 2.2 APG on 42.8% from the field and 38.9% from three. These aren’t necessarily eye-popping numbers but they’re still impressive numbers considering he’s a rookie and he’s come off the bench for the majority of the year. When calculating his stats per 36 minutes, he’d average around 18 PPG, 5 RPG, and 3 APG. Those are solid numbers but not necessarily STAR numbers. I wouldn’t feed much into these statistics but more do the simple eye test. Tyler Herro has the makeup of a star and his poise and confidence at such a young age is contagious… to say the least.
Herro can be a star in the NBA, maybe not this upcoming year or the next… but he has all the poise, confidence, and makeup of a potential star in the NBA. He just needs to get the opportunity and let that confidence grow his game even more.
