Talks have been heating up about Pascal Siakam potentially being dealt to teams. There have been many talks about the Pacers, Mavericks, and Kings all being extremely interested in the All-NBA caliber wing. Pascal Siakam is having another great year averaging over 22 PPG while shooting over 50% from the field. A valuable asset any team wanting to contend could use… even with his expiring contract.
Where will Siakam end up? Let’s get into some realistic trade ideas for Pascal Siakam…
Oklahoma City Thunder
Thunder get: Pascal Siakam
Raptors get: Josh Giddey, Ousmane Dieng, Davis Bertans, Aleksej Pokusevski, 2024 1st
Why for Thunder?
The Thunder are a Top 3 seed in the Western Conference right now and way ahead of schedule. With their plethora of assets at hand, it’s time they start taking some risks on All-Stars to make a potential championship run this year. Getting Siakam who can defend the 4-5 positions and pairing him with Chet? That front court becomes more dangerous.
Why for Raptors?
Getting Josh Giddey and Ousmane Dieng, who can be added to the Raptors young core would be a solid get. They need a playmaker and getting Giddey who can make plays for others would help the young players on the Raptors like Scottie Barnes/RJ Barrett.
Indiana Pacers
Pacers get: Pascal Siakam
Raptors get: Bruce Brown Jr., Jarace Walker, Jordan Nwora, 2024 1st (via OKC/HOU/UTA/LAC), 2024 1st (via IND)
Why for Pacers?
The Indiana Pacers are sitting at 20-15 right now and have put up some impressive wins this year. Winning 4 out of 5 games against the Bucks and having the #1 offense in the league has been great for them. Now on the defensive end… yikes. They’ve struggled to guard opposing 4s and getting Siakam who is lengthy to help would be a great get. Not only that, Siakam can also create his own shot.
Why for Raptors?
Getting a top 10 pick of this year’s draft in Jarace Walker to build with and 2 upcoming first-rounders? Why not. They also get a tradable asset in Bruce Brown Jr., who they can flip for another first if needed.
Dallas Mavericks
Mavericks get: Pascal Siakam
Raptors get: Tim Hardaway Jr., Richaun Holmes, Josh Green, 2026 1st (Unprotected), 2028 1st (Top 4 protected)
Why for Mavericks?
It seems like it’s become an arms race in the Western Conference. The Mavericks don’t have anyone to guard elite opposing wings (For example, Kevin Durant) on the team right now.
Getting Siakam who can score from all facets and also guard some of the elite frontcourt players in the West can only help the Mavericks’ championship hopes. Pairing him with Luka and Kyrie would create one of the best big 3s in the NBA.
Why for Raptors?
The main reason why the Raptors would make this trade would be for those future firsts. They could be very valuable if Siakam doesn’t re-sign or the Mavericks end up very average with Kyrie already 31 years old right now.
Golden State Warriors
Warriors get: Pascal Siakam, Jalen McDaniels
Raptors get: Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, 2025 1st (Lottery Protected)
Why for Warriors?
It seems like the young players on the Warriors have grown frustrated with their respective roles. What’s the best way to fix that? Make a trade. Getting Siakam to pair with Steph, Klay, and Draymond… Sheesh. Siakam would bring another level of scoring threat for the Warriors they could desperately use.
Why for Raptors?
The young assets of Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody are extremely enticing. Kuminga has shown flashes of stardom and elite defense already at a young age. Moody has shown he can be a very efficient wing when given minutes. In my honest opinion, this is the best trade for the Raptors to make.
