Since the 2022-2023 regular season came to an end, it is now time for the highly anticipated Playoffs. Many NBA 1st-round series stand out among the rest, but one, in particular, is attracting all eyes: Clippers vs. Suns. How do these two teams stand ahead of the start of the series? Let us find out.
Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite the Clippers having trouble finding themselves as a team after the all-star break, they managed to boost team chemistry in the last games of the season, strengthening self-confidence and offensive performance, as well as benefiting from the addition of Russell Westbrook, who has been a good fit for the team, constantly improving as a player. Nevertheless, the recent injury of Paul George is arguably their biggest disadvantage for the playoffs, as there is no clear timetable for his return, which can jeopardize the overall team’s performance, especially defensively, missing one of their most important players on that side of the court.
Phoenix Suns.

The Suns arrive at the NBA playoffs with much better momentum than their opponents, having the home-court advantage. Finally healthy, the Valley team had more time to rest and prepare for this playoff series, sidelining their starting five on the final regular season games. Additionally, Kevin Durant’s return has been absolutely phenomenal for the team, as they are currently UNDEFEATED whenever he steps onto the court as a Sun, with a record of 8-0. However, the team does tend to perform poorly in the playoffs, as we witnessed in recent years. Even still, the Phoenix Suns are looking better than ever at this stage of the season.
Prediction: Suns win, 6-Game series.
This is, without a doubt, the best NBA first-round series on paper so far. Despite the Suns having everything in their favor to beat the Clippers and move on to the Western Conference Semifinals, they still need to be aware of their previous mistakes in order to win this 1st round, starting Apr. 16.
