With the third rendition of our NBA 2024 award rankings, it is now the turn of the Most Valuable Player award, arguably the most famous one. At the moment, it is perhaps the closest out of them all, being an extremely close race between three or four candidates on this list. Therefore, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out for them and who takes the MVP award home.
5. Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks franchise player hasn’t stopped delivering extraordinary stats and impacting the court on both ends. Despite struggling with three-pointers, he has developed his specialty in the paint even more, with an unreal field goal percentage of 60.8% so far.
It is safe to say he is the main reason why the Bucks are still among the top teams in the entire NBA, with a record of 24-8. He’s still among the best players in the world.
23-24 Stats: 30.9 PPG, 11.1 RPG, 5.5 APG, 1.3 STL, 1.2 BLK, 60.8 FG%, 19.1 PIE
4. Luka Dončić – Dallas Mavericks

The 24-year-old Dallas Mavericks superstar has been out of this world with his basketball this season. Luka is nearing a triple-double a night with an average of 33.7 points per game. Ridiculous performance.
On top of that, Dončić is even more consistent with his appearances in this 23-24 season, barely missing three games so far. Lastly, the Mavs are having a solid season in terms of winning record, currently in sixth place in the western conference, likely to clinch a playoff seed.
23-24 Stats: 33.7 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 9.2 APG, 1.4 STL, 48.9 FG%, 38.4 3P%, 20.1 PIE
3. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s young superstar has not stopped improving at a single point in his six-year career. What is more, OKC is actually winning games this season, with a record of 21-9. Fourth best in the entire league.
SGA has been the cornerstone of this extremely talented roster, starting a new golden era in Oklahoma. Due to this incredible improvement as a whole, he has plenty of chances of winning the MVP.
23-24 Stats: 31.4 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 6.3 APG, 2.7 STL, 54.8 FG%, 31.3 3P%, 20.6 PIE
2. Nikola Jokić – Denver Nuggets

Nikola Jokić is still putting up videogame-like numbers every single night. He is, once again nearly averaging a triple-double game with his stellar, extremely efficient performances as the Denver Nuggets star.
However, even if it only happened in a few games, he has not been as consistent as his previous seasons, which can definitely hurt his progress in the MVP race. Regardless, he still has a lot of chances to win the award.
23-24 Stats: 26.1 PPG, 12.3 RPG, 9.2 APG, 1.2 STL, 55.5 FG%, 33.3 3P%, 21.3 PIE
1. Joel Embiid – Philadelphia 76ers

Love him, or hate him, you cannot deny the impact he is having on the Philadelphia 76ers once again this season. He has been nearly untouchable in the paint, allowing him to tally a ridiculous 35 points per game and 11.7 rebounds.
Embiid is making the absolute most of every strength he has in this game and exploiting them to the fullest, having an even better season than his previous MVP year in 2023.
23-24 Stats: 35.0 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 6.0 APG, 1.2 STL, 2.0 BLK, 54.0 FG%, 35.0 3P%, 22.8 PIE
