Trade Packages for Devin Booker to Timberwolves

Trade Packages for Devin Booker to Timberwolves

Devin Booker to the Timberwolves trade rumors are surfacing recently as the Timberwolves have been searching for a star to add to their team. The Phoenix Suns probably don’t want to trade their star player but if a trade is offered that they just can’t say no to… why not?

Devin Booker added to the team would create a big 3 in Minnesota with D’Angelo Russell, Karl Anthony-Towns, and Devin Booker. Here are some trade packages that the Timberwolves and Suns could take a look at to potentially get a trade done…

Trade #1

Phoenix Suns get: James Johnson (PF), Jarett Culver (SG), Josh Okogie (SG), #1 Overall Pick, and 2022 1st round pick.

Minnesota Timberwolves get: Devin Booker (SG)

This trade allows Phoenix to get a young great defender in Josh Okogie and another guard/forward they can develop in Jarrett Culver. The first overall pick is obviously the most valuable of the pieces offered which would be used to draft LaMelo Ball or Anthony Edwards to replace Devin Booker immediately.

Trade #2

Phoenix Suns get: James Johnson (PF), Jarett Culver (SG), Jake Layman (SF/PF), #1 Overall Pick, and 2022 1st round pick, 2022 2nd round pick

Minnesota Timberwolves get: Devin Booker (SG)

This trade includes Jarrett Culver who they could plug in immediately in the starting lineup. Then you get Jake Layman who is a 26 year old role player they can bring off the bench and give them a solid 8-10 points per game which is pretty good for a bench player. They also get James Johnson but he’d just be a veteran to make the trade work. The key pieces in trade being the #1 overall pick who they can use to draft Anthony Edwards/LaMelo Ball and future 2022 pick from the Timberwolves.

Both of these trades are good for both teams as the Suns can get a top overall pick to use to replace Devin Booker and also get some young pieces as well.
