Stephen Curry has been one of the NBA’s brightest stars for over a decade, redefining the game with his long-range shooting and incredible skill set. Now, heading into the 2024-25 season, Curry still looks as sharp as ever. But with each passing year, fans wonder how long he can maintain this elite level of play. Will we see another MVP-caliber season from Curry, or is age finally catching up to the Warriors’ legend?
Curry’s Impact
Curry’s impact on the court remains undeniable. Last season, he averaged over 29 points per game, proving he’s still one of the most dangerous scorers in the league. His ability to hit shots from anywhere on the floor continues to baffle defenders. What sets Curry apart, though, isn’t just his shooting, it’s his movement, playmaking, and basketball IQ. He constantly keeps defenses guessing with his off-ball movement, creating space for his teammates.
Additionally, his exceptional performance in the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics let us know that he is nowhere near the end of his career, putting up INSANE performances, especially in the last games of the competition. As long as he holds up, he’ll be a problem for any opponent. Plus, with a solid supporting cast around him, Curry doesn’t have to carry the entire load by himself, but the loss of Klay Thompson will definitely be a concern down the line.
Management Through the Season
However, as “The Chef” approaches 37, the big question is whether he can continue to play at this level for an entire season. The wear and tear of the NBA grind, combined with his history of injuries, raises some concerns. The Warriors will likely manage his minutes carefully, ensuring he stays fresh for the playoffs. With teams around the league getting stronger, Curry’s leadership and ability to stay healthy will be crucial to the Warriors’ success. If everything clicks, we could be in for another stellar season from the greatest shooter the game has ever seen.
In the end, Curry’s potential for the upcoming season depends on how well he can balance his minutes and maintain his health. If the Warriors can keep him fresh, there’s no reason to think we won’t see another incredible year from him. Age may be creeping in, but don’t be surprised if Curry continues to play at an MVP level. He’s proven time and time again that counting him out is a mistake.
