2024 Early NFL Rookie Quarterback Predictions

2024 Early NFL Rookie Quarterback Predictions

The 2024 NFL Draft has concluded and it’s time to get in some early predictions for the rookie quarterbacks. Who will perform well for their new teams in their rookie seasons…

Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears (QB, 1st Overall)

Caleb Williams was the undisputed #1 overall quarterback in this year’s draft class and for good reason. His poise in the pocket while making accurate throws continuously is exactly what Bears fans have been looking for a while.

The Bears front office went and got Caleb Williams arguably the best supporting cast I’ve ever seen for a rookie quarterback. With receivers like Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and rookie receiver Rome Odunze… Williams is in position to have a great season.

Stat Predictions:

  • 3,901 Passing Yards
  • 32 Passing TDs, 14 Ints
  • 66.8% Completion
  • 304 Rushing Yards, 3 Rushing TDs

Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders (QB, 2nd Overall)

Like Chicago, the Washington Commanders have been looking for a franchise quarterback for a very long time. Jayden Daniels has all the tools to become a superstar and weapon at the QB position for the Commanders for the next few decades. His incredible accuracy and ability to make plays out of the pocket is what makes him so intriguing.

Stat Predictions:

  • 3,101 Passing Yards
  • 19 Passing TDs, 8 Ints
  • 64.4% Completion
  • 640 Rushing Yards, 6 Rushing TDs

Drake Maye, New England Patriots (QB, 3rd Overall)

Drake Maye has everything you want when building a quarterback. He’s got a big arm and has shown potential multiple times throughout his college career that he could be the best quarterback in this year’s draft class.

It’s his inconsistency with accuracy and play that caused him to be the 3rd quarterback drafted instead of higher. Nonetheless, with his inconsistency and the fact the Patriots literally don’t have a true #1 receiver… I think he’ll end up struggling a bit in his rookie season.

Stat Predictions:

  • 2,866 Passing Yards
  • 17 Passing TDs, 16 Ints
  • 62.4% Completion
  • 170 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD

Michael Penix, Atlanta Falcons (QB, 8th overall)

I’m going to keep this short, this man probably will not play at all his rookie season and it’s nothing to do with him. Don’t get me wrong, if Penix were to be given the opportunity to play it might be different, but I highly doubt he does with Kirk Cousins there.

Stat Predictions:

  • 552 Passing Yards
  • 1 Passing TD, 1 INT
  • 58.6% Completion
  • 56 Rushing Yards, 0 Rushing TDs

J.J. McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings (QB, 10th Overall)

Another rookie quarterback that’s going to be put in a great position to have success. Having the best receiver in the league and a top 3 tight end definitely helps and I expect McCarthy to be a dark-horse ROTY candidate.

Stat Predictions:

  • 3,456 Passing Yards
  • 24 Passing TD, 11 INT
  • 66.1% Completion
  • 199 ushing Yards, 2 Rushing TDs

Bo Nix, Denver Broncos (QB, 12th Overall)

A bit of a reach by the Denver Broncos but they went ahead and got hopefully.. their franchise quarterback. Nix has shown plenty of flashes with his arm but just struggles with consistency. It’ll be interesting to see if the Broncos let Nix start out of the gate or ease him in.

Stat Predictions:

  • 2, 101 Passing Yards
  • 9 Passing TD, 7INT
  • 62.4 % Completion
  • 105 ushing Yards, 2 Rushing TDs
