With a hectic schedule within the Association, the NBA 2024 All-Star weekend coming to an end, there is only one event left, the 73rd All-Star Game.
Returning to the “conference format” is seemingly a perfect way to give the game a breath of fresh air after the recent years. Who will win East vs. West today? Here are the starters and predictions:
East Starting Five
G: Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers)
G: Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks)
F: Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics)
F: Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks, Captain)
C: Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat)***
*** Replacement of Joel Embiid due to injury.
West Starting Five:
G: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder)
G: Luka Doncić (Dallas Mavericks)
F: Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns)
F: LeBron James (Los Angeles Lakers, Captain)
C: Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)
As we know, the ASG is not exactly a defensive-centered match, which leaves us with the expectation of plenty offensive possessions and opportunities for both teams, and well over 325 points in total.
However, we expect it to be a close game across the board, with every single player putting a show for the fans, preserving the competitive spirit and sportsmanship. The West team seems to fit better in terms of chemistry and play-style, which will ultimately give them the upper hand in the late stages of the match.
All in all, this edition of the ASG will not disappoint whatsoever, closing out a successful, innovative All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis. This marks the final stretch of the regular season, and we could not be more excited for it.
Prediction: West Win
