The NBA playoffs have been nothing short of insane this year so far and it’s only going to get crazier. The 2nd round of the playoffs are here and it’s time we get into the predictions of our writers. A lot of intriguing matchups to look out for, Jayson Tatum vs Giannis, Devin Booker vs Luka, Ja Morant vs Steph, and a lot more.
Thanks to Joey, Henry, Will, Sheikh, Chandra, Aidan, Jakson, Sebastian, James, Benton, Jake, Cole, Valentino, Jonah, and Abraham for all participating in providing their predictions.
East
Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks
Going to be one of the craziest series of the second round, if not the craziest. Both teams are extremely stacked (although Bucks don’t have Middleton) and play defense at a high level. It’s going to come down to how the superstars play and that’s going to be Jayson Tatum for the Celtics and of course Giannis Antetokounmpo for the Bucks.
Prediction: Celtics in 6 (8 votes)
Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers
This series was going to be really good in my opinion until the Joel Embiid injury. We’re not sure right now when Embiid will come back, the hope is he will be able to at a point during this series, but if not, this series could end very quickly for the 76ers if Harden can’t take over and make some noise in the playoffs against the Heat.
Prediction: Heat in 6 (11 votes)
West
Phoenix Suns vs Dallas Mavericks
It’s good that Devin Booker is back for the Suns because they will definitely need him vs the Mavericks. The Mavericks are seeing a star being born in Jalen Brunson in the playoffs and having him pair with Luka? The Mavericks vs Suns series will 100% be a super entertaining matchup to watch. It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how the Suns decide to guard Luka, something to look out for.
Prediction: Suns in 7 (8 votes)
Memphis Grizzlies vs Golden State Warriors
Another series that will have some intriguing matchups in Ja Morant vs Steph Curry. The Warriors currently have looked like the most complete team in the playoffs and the Grizzlies have kind of looked a bit shaky, so this will be interesting to see how it will play out. Both teams are extremely deep and have players that can make plays and cause havoc other than their superstars.
Prediction: Warriors in 6 (14 votes)
