Top Stars Most Likely to Get Traded This Offseason

There’s been a lot of trade rumors this offseason and a lot of anticipation that has come with it. Within the next 10 days, we’re going to have the draft, and also free agency will start. Trades will be allowed within a week as well and all signs are showing there’s going to be many trades that are going to happen.

There’s been a lot of speculation on which stars will get traded and which star would be a good fit on what team or whatever… Let’s get into the stars that are most likely to get traded this offseason.

Kevin Love, Cavaliers

The Cavaliers will be looking to trade Kevin Love this offseason. It’s time for Love to get back on a contending team and not play for a bottom-feeder like the Cavaliers right now. Kevin Love can still give a team a shooting big that can post up and rebound if need be. He’s not as good as he used to be in the Cavaliers championship days but he’s still a very good star in this league that can help a team get over the hump.

His play style would really fit any team right now. He brings a veteran presence as well and a championship mentality that he got while being with LeBron. I’d want to see him on a team like the Jazz, Mavericks, or even the Trailblazers.

Jrue Holiday, Pelicans

It’s time that Jrue gets traded. Jrue Holiday is in my opinion one of the most underrated stars in the league. He is arguably the best perimeter defender on the league and always creates problems for guards on any team. I want to see him contending on a team and not being a veteran presence again on a young team like the Pelicans.

He would be perfect as that 3rd star on a championship team like the Brooklyn Nets or even a 2nd star on a team like the Indiana Pacers. I really hope he does get traded and goes to a team where he can compete and we get to see him more in the playoffs.

Chris Paul, Thunder

Although I don’t think CP3 cares much if he gets traded or not… I think he should be on a championship team. The OKC Thunder are probably looking to rebuild and getting some young assets for CP3 or picks would be ideal. If they can get their share of young assets for CP3, they should make the deal. According to reports, the Thunder won’t trade CP3 to somewhere he doesn’t want to go.

A team where I want to see CP3 is on the Milwaukee Bucks. He could be that player they’re desperately missing that they need. They need that player they can go to late in the game other than Giannis. CP3 would bring that leadership and veteran presence that is deeply needed for that Milwaukee team. The Bucks should do whatever they can to make that trade happen if they want to win a championship.

Blake Griffin, Pistons

I think Blake Griffin should get traded this offseason and the Detroit Pistons are going to be looking to trade him as well. The Pistons need to go into a rebuild and trading Griffin can push them that direction. Trading Blake Griffin isn’t going to be easy sadly. His contract is massive and trading for him would be really hard to do.. but not impossible.

A team that could make a push for Griffin would be like the Golden State Warriors. Say a trade of the #7 pick and Blake Griffin for Andrew Wiggins and the #2 overall pick would definitely be enticing for both teams. Pistons get a top 3 pick and a player with some upside in Andrew Wiggins. Warriors still get a top 10 pick and get Blake Griffin who is still a star in this league in my opinion.
